TUCSON (KGUN 9-TV) - Chances are, you've heard of Gardasil - the vaccine on the market that protects females ages 9 to 26 from many strains of a STD called the Human Papillomavirus, or HPV. The virus can lead to cervical cancer. But for thousands of women who already have the virus, the only option when their condition worsens is surgery. Researchers are trying to see if they can help these women with medication instead.
