Nicholas J. Montalto, M.D. is pleased to announce that the Women’s Diagnostic Ultrasound Center at Genesis OB/GYN has been awarded accreditation from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) to perform first, second and third trimester obstetrical ultrasounds and gynecological ultrasounds.
AIUM accreditation is the hallmark of an ultrasound practice that meets nationally accepted standards of patient care, demonstrates consistent excellence, and is current with the latest ultrasound technology. The Women’s Diagnostic Center at Genesis OB/GYN is one of three ultrasound centers in Tucson accredited by AIUM for both obstetrical and gynecological ultrasounds.
The AIUM accreditation is a voluntary peer-review process, involving a comprehensive examination of all aspects of an ultrasound practice, including physician qualifications, physical facilities, the ultrasound equipment, protocols for testing, and policies for safeguarding the health and safety of every patient.
The Medical Director of the Women’s Diagnostic Ultrasound Center is Nicholas J. Montalto, M.D.
Nicholas J. Montalto, M.D. completed his bachelor's degree at St. John's University in New York and his doctorate in medicine at New York Medical College. He completed his residency at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York in 1969. He has been practicing in Tucson since 1991. Dr. Montalto is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
