Pelvic Ultrasounds - Pelvic ultrasounds are usually performed in two parts. The exam begins with a Transabdominal Ultrasound which requires a full bladder. (Please do not use the restroom prior to coming to your appointment. Drinking extra water is not necessary.) Once the required images are obtained you will be allowed to empty your bladder before we begin the Transvaginal Ultrasound.
If only a Transabdominal Ultrasound is ordered, a full bladder is required. Please drink at least 32oz. of water 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment.
Abdominal (Gallbladder) Ultrasounds
Please do not have anything to eat or drink for 8 hours prior to exam. These scans can be scheduled for early morning if desired.
